During the filming of 'Miriam:Home Delivery', events took an unexpected turn when Super Storm Sandy hit New York City.

Miriam faces the added challenges Sandy throws at her: attempting to cross from Brooklyn to Manhattan, in the height of the storm, to reach a woman in labour who has no electricity, no heating; and in the days that follow, managing the practical and emotional problems of a family whose home has been flooded by the high water, and whose home-birth is imminent.
